This historic exhibit features churches of Kings Mountain and will run through Saturday, September 8th. The museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 p.m.

The Kosa retirees fished Lake Hickory last week and John Black and Roger McNeely picked up the win with 13.75. They also had big fish with a 3.90 largemouth. Ronnie Humphries took second with 4.20, followed by Ken Johnson and Dean Champion with 2.45. This week it is back to Lake Norman.

In my area, June has been a very pleasant month for outdoor activities. There have been many days where the mornings have had a nip to them and where the midday seemed almost deplete of any humidity. These will soon be overcome by the sweltering days of August. But until then I will savor each moment.
The Shelby Bombers 11U baseball team won the South Carolina AAU Upper State Championship in Simpsonville, S.C. for their fathers on Father’s Day.
My husband loves deer hunting season and he wanted me to hunt with him. I wasn’t extremely happy about it, but decided to give it a try. So, I got up at 5:00 am for my first hunt. We were in our stands by sun-up.

John Collins was the lucky winner of the 2012 Ford Focus that was raffled off on Friday, June 15th. The annual event helps fund the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland County and the 2012 goal of $45,000 was met.
