The largest open bull riding competition east of the Mississippi will be taking place Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13th at Granny Mountain Farms. This will be the fourth year Boiling Springs Bull Riding will be held at Granny Mountain Farm’s arena, located at 2140 Ledbetter Road in the Boiling Springs community.

Hospice Cleveland County recently opened a Thrift Store near Uptown Shelby. The store is located at 323 E. Marion Street beside Dollar General and features approximately 5,000 square feet of retail space.

The Cleveland County Bass Club had their fish off recently on Lake Wylie. Tom Mayhew picked up that win with 11.90, he was followed by long time friend John Rankin with 10.30. Rankin had big bass of the day with a 4.44 largemouth. Jimmy Melton took third with 5.00.
Recently, I was able to take an extended trip with Richard Jordan of Christian Sportsmen’s Fellowship. Our destination was Dallas, Texas and since we had several stops to make, we decided to drive. Now this is normally a terrible idea, but it gave Richard and me a lot of time to talk about all things ministry and outdoors.

DBSA support groups are open to anyone who is diagnosed with a mood disorder, has a family member or friend who is diagnosed, or who thinks they might have depression or bipolar disorder.
A group of girls won crowns and titles during the Outstanding Little Miss Cleveland-Lincoln County Pageant held Saturday, March 16 at the Cleveland County Office Building Auditorium in Shelby. The pageant was an official Outstanding Little Miss preliminary competition for Cleveland and Lincoln counties.
