Etta Frances Bryant, age 90, of Carolina Beach, NC formerly of Forest City, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Frances was born January 26, 1928 in Rutherford County to the late John Irvin Scruggs and Etta Belle Carver Scruggs. She worked for Spindale Mill for twenty-four years and retired from Reeves Brothers Mill in Chesnee. Frances enjoyed cooking for her family and reading her Bible. She was a past member of Riverside Baptist Church and a current member of the First Baptist Church of Carolina Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, James Thomas Bryant; an infant daughter, Kay Frances Bryant; four brothers and three sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Rachel Keeter of Douglasville, Georgia and Debra Benoy and husband, Karl of Carolina Beach, NC; three sons, David Bryant and Tommy Bryant both of Forest City and Irvin Bryant of Carolina Beach, NC. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren which includes, Scott Bryant (Tammy), Weston Benoy, Michael Benoy, Josh Bryant (Brooke), Courtney Watson (Nick), Patty Roberts (James), Judi Babb (Michael), Chris Bryant (Brittany), Janette Boone (Michael), John Bryant, Molly Bryant, Beth Bryant, Lacey Colon, Tony Bryant, John Benoy and Jacob Benoy; twenty-two great-grandchildren, twenty-six great-great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great-great-grandchildren; four special nieces who reside in Rutherford County and one nephew of Virginia.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ted Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
