Relay For Life will hold it's "Spring Foward Relay Event" Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 6:00pm, at Cleveland County Fairgrounds, Goforth Hall, 1751 Marion Street, Shelby, NC.

The Lutz Austell Funeral Home Chapel, located at 409 West Marion Street in Shelby, NC, will be open to the public for silent prayer and meditation on Thursdays of Lent from noon until 1:30. You are invited to drop in at your convenience to pray, meditate, read, or just enjoy the quiet.
Friends- Cub Scout Pack 112/Pinto Bean Supper

Cleveland County 4-H
Cleveland County 4-H will be holding a drop in informational meeting for you to learn more about the opportunities 4-H offers for youth in Cleveland County, on Monday, March 5, 2018, 4:00-6:30pm, at Cleveland County Extension Center, 130 South Post Road, Suite 1, Shelby, NC. Light refreshments will be provided.
Distribution of USDA Commodities, Shelby
The Shelby Lions Club will be distributing USDA Commodities on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Cleveland County Fair Ground. Those who wish to fill out an application will only need to give their home address and must live in Cleveland County. If a person is unable to come in person, they may send a note stating the number in the family, their address and their whole family income, signed by them. The distribution is based on the number in the family and the income of the household.
Kings Mountain Woman's Club Yard Sale
The Kings Mountain Woman's Club will be holding an Indoor Yard and Bake Sale Saturday, March 10, 2018, 7:30am until 11:30am. All proceeds go directly into their Sallie Southall Cotten Scholarship Fund. Huge variety of items from household, craft, decorative, toys and clothing. Yummy baked goods will also be available. Polk County Early College, Columbus
Polk County Early College is a proud chapter of Becca's Closet, which provides high school students with free prom gowns. Last year their chapter gave away 132 dresses and want to reach even more students this season. They'll be doing three drives in March 16, 2018, 3:00-5:00 and March 18, 2018, 2:00-6:00, at Polk County Early College in Columbus, NC; March 24, 2018, 9:00-1:00, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. Gowns cost nothing for students. We have over 300 gowns in a variety of sizes (0-24), colors, and styles.
Casar's St. Patrick's Day Easter Bash
Casar's St. Patrick's Day Easter Bash will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 on St. Patrick's Day from 12:00-3:00pm at Casar Park. An Easter celebration and St. Patrick's Day celebration in one awesome event! Egg Hunt, Bounce House, Sand Art, Crafts, Games, Live Music and much more free! Cleveland County Schools Preschool Screening
Cleveland County Schools Preschool Screening for the 2018-2019 preschool classes will be March 19-23, 2018 (No make-up screening will be offered.) Location: Office of School Readiness, 308 W. Marion Street, Building B, Shelby, NC 28150 (location of old Shelby Middle School, small building near tennis courts. Parking is in back). This is for children who live in Cleveland County and will be 4 years old by August 31, 2018. For more information or to schedule a screening appointment, please call 704-476-8064 between the hours of 8:30am - 3:00pm. Appointments will be made until all are booked. Screening provided by appointment only.
Kings Mountain Historical Museum
Kings Mountain Historical Museum, 100 East Kings Mountain Street, Kings Mountain, NC is features a traveling exhibit from Gaston County Museum, "From Over Here to Over There: World War I in the Southwest Piedmont" going on thru May 12, 2018. Discover how Cleveland and Gaston Counties did their bit when the United States joined the Great War in 1916. Visitors will be able to visualize the greater timeline of the war, see where this region fit in the wider conflict, and discover some of the specific regiments and combat local men engaged in.
