William Alfred Davidson

William Alfred Davidson, age 78 of Grover, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 at Hospice of Rutherford County in Forest City.

He is survived by his children, Tina Lavender (Carol Franklin) of Grover, NC, Angela Ruppe (Robbie) of Shelby, NC, Karen Kincaid (Kendall) of Kings Mountain, NC, and Victor Davidson (Chrissy) of Shelby, NC, 11 grandchildren, Kimber Lavender of Kings Mountain, NC, Bradley Turner (Christy) of Shelby, NC, Jessica Turner (Robbie Forbes) of Hendersonville, NC, Emily Curtis (Casey) of Kings Mountain, NC, Alex Davidson of Shelby, NC, Bob Kirkland of Kings Mountain, NC, Brittany Auton of Shelby, NC, Catie Davidson of Shelby, NC, Hannah Ruppe of Shelby, NC, R.J. Ruppe of Shelby, NC, and Zac Davidson of Shelby, NC, five great grandchildren, Dylan Larson, Jake Larson, Reilly Curtis, Kayleigh Turner, and Connor Auton, and a sister, Jo Ann Davidson of Bostic, NC.

Born May 17, 1942 in Rutherford County, William was the son of the late Thomas and Lucille Campbell Davidson and was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Irene Cartee Davidson, and a sister, Josephine Hawkins.

William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He drove a truck for more than 40 years. His passion was driving his truck to provide for his family. He always made time to talk to his wife and children on a nightly basis. When he wasn't driving his truck, he loved spending time with his family on the weekends doing family events.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 28, 2020 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Corey Mode. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
